Delivering Affordable
Green Housing

HILOA Housing combats housing inequality for those

who are less fortunate, one family at a time

At HILOA, we envision a transformative journey for households, moving from substandard and unaffordable housing units to spaces that embody affordability, environmental sustainability, and holistic empowerment. Our vision extends beyond the mere provision of shelter. We aspire to create homes that bring about tangible improvements in the lives of those we serve.

What We Do

Our Mission

HILOA, a minority-led 501c3 nonprofit, develops affordable green housing in urban areas for families who can least afford it, enabling them to access an environment that will foster their economic growth.

Our partnership with Prep4Work.org represents a focused imperative to combine workforce and affordable housing initiatives with workforce development as the foundational elements of economic development.

Our joint mission is to empower individuals and transform communities,
ensuring that workforce talent has the support and resources needed to thrive in today’s economy.

HILOA Affordability

  • 100% of HILOA units are affordable based on area median income (AMI) and family size

  • HILOA families pay no more than 30% of their income for housing

  • All capital and reserve funds are secured BEFORE the start of construction to eliminate debt service expense, and the  operating cost reductions are passed directly to resident families in the form of lower rents
